Dynamic Movement Skills - Speed, Explosiveness, Agility, Quick Feet and Turning Ability.
Fundamental movement skills for an active life
We don’t believe that every child develops movement in the same way. We do however believe that every child can develop to be the best they can be, if they are taught how.
At Body Logic Health we believe that children should be educated in both the body and mind, not just from the neck up. Movement skills education and practice are proven to be just as important as reading and writing for the development of brain cells.
We support getting kids active and healthy by engaging them through movement, fitness, fun and interaction. We believe that children should be encouraged to do physical activity every day and that having a fun and inclusive environment is the best method of encouraging this. Body movement is a life skill and should be taught from the age of five, especially due to the sedentary life style children now live due to school work, studying, computer games and television.
What is Dynamic Movement Skills?
The running school has developed a unique Dynamic Movement Skills™ Training System that primarily stimulates the neural system and can significantly improve motor skills along movement patterns in as little as six weeks.
Our coaches provide a 45 minute training session to challenge cardiovascular fitness, strength and reaction times. Children will develop and eventually perfect a variety of motor skills which help them with balance, rhythm, coordination and agility. These skills ultimately help them to increase competence and confidence in running, functional movement and sport. No other tool works in all three planes of motion and in all directions (including backwards!!).
The DMS Junior System is for children from the age of 5 to 11 years old. It helps to develop, improve and refine gross motor skills, and through this helps to develop coordination, quick feet, balance and body control, which are important components in all sporting activity.
Our DMS Youth System (ages 12-16) is a progression of the Junior System and as well as developing and improving gross motor skills is also used to develop speed, quickness, co-ordination, dynamic balance, core control and explosiveness.
Five reasons why Dynamic Movement Skills is a great choice:
1. Develops speed, agility and power
2. Improvements can be measured
3. Offers a Multi-Skill Approach
4. Flexible
5. FUN
