Mary-Lynn Deacon

MARY-LYNN DEACON MCSP

Mary-Lynn qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 2001. Since qualifying she’s worked in various clinical settings in both the hospital and private practice settings within Namibia, London and George, South Africa. In 2003 she joined a private sporting practice focusing her area of expertise predominantly to orthopaedic outpatients with mechanical dysfunctions and sports related injuries. In 2006 she became a partner and co-managed the practice. Since participating in various Kinetic Control courses over the years her passion developed further for biomechanical dysfunctions, the assessment and rehabilitation thereof, as well as injury prevention and subsequent performance enhancement. Which lead her to pursue further studies in London and to join the Body logic Health team in 2011.

She is a passionate manual therapist who believes in correcting mechanical restrictions with manual therapy and rehabilitating movement dysfunctions with good exercise therapy. She particularly enjoys running and cycling injuries and has worked at various events including:

  • The Cape Argus
  • The Knysna Marathon

She’s also worked as a team physiotherapist for the The Eagles Rugby Team in South Africa.
