physiotherapy screeningHas your body had a yearly review?

A long term investment in your body is a wise and beneficial move. As they say, “Prevention is better than cure”.

Our body has to cope with many stresses during its life, particularly with the chaotic lifestyles most of us now lead. With this assessment you can observe how your body is changing over time and learn to accommodate for such changes through simple exercises. Therefore you will be able to address them before they become detrimental to your well being. During this past year you have probably taken your car in to be serviced, been to the dentist, renewed your gym membership and arranged a new workout programme, you may well have even had a medical check your heart and lungs. So why leave the rest of your body to chance?

What is a Screening Assessment?

This is an assessment carried our by a chartered physiotherapist with a view to prevention of problems. The therapist will go through a detailed investigation of your body’s biomechanics. Such as:

  • Previous Injuries
  • Postural Assessment
  • Gait Analysis
  • Movement Analysis
  • Sports/Hobbies/Work

Then this will be incorporated into a review of your active range of movement for all your major joints and testing the length and strength of your major muscle groups, along with a check of your neural components (nerve mobility). Lastly there will be an investigation of your stabilizing muscle groups, therefore allowing a greater understanding of your core stability.

Why have a Screening Assessment?

runnerThe assessment itself is a new concept being started at Body Logic. It has been devised to help improve clients understanding of their body and improve postural and biomechanical awareness.

Appointments

The consultation will be 60 minutes in total for the full assessment. We can specify areas that need to be concentrated on and give you advice and exercises. Your therapist will discuss in full detail all the findings and the course of action that should be considered.

The idea would be to return in twelve months for a review appointment or check problem regions and pick up any new changes in how your body is functioning.
